No. 99: Take a Class at Infinite Yarns

Infinite Yarns in Farmingdale offers crochet and knitting classes for beginners and experts.

For those who are new to knitting and crocheting or just want to brush up on their skills, . on Main Street offers classes for everyone and draws customers and students from all over the tri-state area.

Beginner Classes:

For beginners Infinite Yarns offers their "Learn to Knit" class, which teaches the basics of knitting in two sessions. Students are taught how to cast on, knit and purl. The beginner "Learn to Crochet" class is also split into two sessions. Students are taught how to chain, single and double crochet. Both classes cost $50 and yarn is included in the price.

Expert Classes:

For those who already have experience with knitting and crochet, Infinite Yarns also offers classes to help experts improve their skills. The "Beyond The Basics" knitting class teaches tips and tricks to complete projects and simple stitch patterns. The "Beyond the Basics" crochet class teaches reading patterns, granny squares, ripples and more. For those interested in taking the crochet course, students must bring in their own hooks and scrap yarn. Both classes cost $50.

Class sizes are limited and are spots are filled on a first come, first serve basis. Store owner Anne Schneck, also recommends those who are interested crochet and knitting to be seven years of age and older.
