Bank Robbed in East Farmingdale

The suspect has not been found.

Suffolk County Police are investigating a bank robbery that took place at in Farmingdale on Tuesday.

Police said that a robber fled on foot after displaying a handgun and demanding cash from a teller around 4:20 p.m.

Police responded with canine and aviation units. They also patrolled  the perimeter of the area from Route 110 up through Main Street into the evening.

The teller described the suspect as 5-feet, 9-inches tall with a slim build, wearing a surgical mask, gloves, sunglasses, a dark-blue long-sleeved shirt, a gray hooded sweatshirt and dark-blue pants.

The robbery comes days after Suffolk County Police announced the capture of Michael Walsh, a serial bank robber wanted in connection with six heists in Nassau, Suffolk and upstate.
