Farmingdale firefighters put down the blaze quickly at Conklin and Fulton streets.

Farmingdale firefighters were called to put out a smoky car fire that disrupted downtown traffic Thursday morning, firefighters said.

Firefighters stretched one hose line and extinguished the burning Cadillac quickly but not before the blaze did heavy damage to the vehicle. The fire was reported shortly after 10 a.m. at the intersection of Conklin and Fulton streets.
