Cake Celebrities Visiting The Chocolate Duck

The Farmingdale shop will host two Food Network stars in October.

Two celebrity pastry chefs are coming to Farmingdale this October.

Marina Sousa and James Roselle, who appear on the Food Network shows “Cake Challenge” and “Last Cake Standing,” are holding a two-day cake-decorating workshop at

The workshop is entitled “Fashion Cakes,” and will teach students how to use pastillage, gumpaste, fondant, white chocolate, isomalt and royal icing to create sugar-studded stilettos, couture handbags and edible glittering jewels.

Roselle graduated from the California School of Culinary Arts in Pasadena, and worked with master cake designer Ron Ben Israel in New York City. His emphasis is on detail, creativity and color and he says art, fashion and nature are inspirations for his cakes.

Sousa owns a shop called Just Cake, located in the Monterey Bay area of California. Sousa was recently a guest on the "Oprah Winfrey Show" and was called one of the top cake designers in the country. She has designed cakes for high-profile celebrities including a wedding cake for Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston and a sweet 16 cake for Miley Cyrus.
