Capital One Bank Robbed Monday

Cops ask anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers.

on Merritts Road in South Farmingdale was robbed on Monday afternoon, Nassau County police said.

According to detectives, a male black subject, 30-40 years old, 6’ tall, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and baseball cap, entered the Capital One Bank at around 2 p.m. Police said he presented one of the tellers a robbery demand note and obtained an undetermined amount of cash before fleeing the bank on foot, heading westbound on Merritts Road.

At the time of the incident there were five employees and five customers present and no injuries were reported, according to police.

A few miles away down Hempstead Turnpike, a Roslyn Savings Bank in West Hempstead on Monday afternoon by a man with a similar description. Police are for the suspect wanted in connection with the Roslyn Savings Bank bank incidents and believe he is also responsible for a bank robbery in Freeport.

Detectives ask anyone with information regarding this crime to contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
