Crime Report: Deception, Harassment
A blotter of the latest arrests and incidents in Farmingdale.
The following arrest information was supplied by the Suffolk County Police Department, Nassau County Police Department and New York State Police Troop L. It does not indicate a conviction.

Arrests
- Ray Tepolt, of North Amityville, was arrested in East Farmingdale on Jan. 29 and charged with harassment in the second degree.
- Jason Martin, of Jamaica, was arrested in Farmingdale on Jan. 28 and charged with unlawfully using a vehicle.
- Damien Armella, of Massapequa, was arrested in East Farmingdale on Jan. 26 and charged with criminal mischief in the third degree.
- Thomas Zachmann, of Farmingdale, was arrested in Seldon on Jan. 26 and charged with criminal possession substance in the seventh degree.
Incidents
- Police reported that they received three calls about harassment on Route 109 on Jan. 29.
- Police reported that an 84-year-old man answered a knock on his Bethpage door Wednesday afternoon and was met by a suspect who claimed to be buying a home directly behind the victim's. The elderly man invited the suspect in and spent 5-10 minutes together discussing the neighborhood, all the while looking out the victim's back window toward the yard, police said. When the intruder left, the victim received a phone call from a neighbor who reported that a man fitting the same description as the intruder had knocked on her front door. He was described as a white male, about 5’10,” with a stocky build, wearing a black jacket with a gray fur collar. The elderly man looked around his home and discovered assorted jewelry and money had been taken. Police were alerted and a manhunt ensued. Police from the Eighth Precinct decended on the area off Stewart Avenue and canvassed the local streets. A police helicopter was launched and was heard circling in the vicinity, witnesses said.

I thought you were calling attention to Police harassment of the public! There is a lot of that by Suffolk Police in Amity. (P.S. I'm no bad guy, 15 yrs navy spec. ops now in law school) However, The police here on L.I. overstep their authority often!
