Downtown Farmingdale looked like a ghost town early Monday evening, with  boarded up buildings and devoid of life. Tree limbs were scattered all over roadways leading in and out of Main Street and Conklin Avenue just before dusk.

More destruction came during the night as the full fury of the storm hit Farmingdale and the rest of Long Island.

Many traffic lights were down but localized flooding was still at a minimum late Monday afternoon.
