High School Names Top Students

Emily Dorso and Saniya Khan earn senior class top spots.

Emily Dorso has been named the valedictorian and Saniya Khan has been named salutatorian of the Class of 2011.

Dorso has taken a rigorous class schedule including many AP courses and is graduating with a GPA of 104.187. She is president of the Spanish Honor Society, a four year member of the Wind Ensemble, an all-state flute player and has been the drum major for the award winning Marching Band for the last two years.

Khan is graduating with a GPA of 103.855 and has received a 96 or above on all ten of the New York State Regents Exams that she has taken. She is president of the school’s Interact Club and organized a fundraiser this year to help those in Pakistan who were affected by the deadly monsoon last summer.

Dorso will be attending the University of Tampa in the fall. Khan is accepting an offer into the Honor Program at Molloy College.
