Farmingdale State Community Celebrates Centennial Exhibition

There will be a special alumni panel Thursday night.

The  centennial exhibition "Historical Perspectives" has been open for several weeks, but tonight marks its opening celebration.

From 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. there will a welcome address by Farmingdale State President W. Hubert Keen followed by an alumni panel discussion.

The college is celebrating its 100th birthday with this art exhibition running Jan. 23 to March. 9 and other events throughout the year.

The gallery exhibition, titled “Historical Perspectives,” captures the college's rich history as Long Island’s first public institution of higher learning.  and artifacts will be displayed emphasizing the college's beginnings in 1912 as an agricultural college and its transition into a comprehensive college of applied sciences and technologies.

The special alumni panel discussion includes Anthony Mastroianni, Class of 1950; Judith McEvoy, Class of 1960; Joe Egan, Class of 1960 and Rich Lahn, Class of 2004.

Admission is free and the gallery is accessible to persons with mobility impairments. The gallery is located in Nathan Hale Hall Monday through Friday from 9 a.m to 4 p.m
