Football Coach Krumenacker Wins 200th Game

Farmingdale football defeated Valley Stream Central Saturday for Buddy Krumenacker's 200th career victory.

He reached the milestone thanks to the Farmingdale varsity football team's 26-20 victory over Valley Stream Central.

Krumenacker has led the program since 1993, coaching Farmingdale to the Long Island Championship in 2001. He inherited the program from Don Snyder.

“This is my 42nd year coaching, 18 years as head coach at Farmingdale,“ Krumenacher told Patch before the season. "I’ve seen it all."

“They’re new, but they’re good people and they want to play,” Krumenacker said before the first game. “The challenge is going to be putting 22 guys out there that haven’t started a varsity football game. I believe we’ll own up, but you don’t know til you get there.”

The veteran coach said he has great pride in the Farmingdale program.

"I took over something that already was rolling and kept it moving," Krumenacker told Newsday on Saturday. "It speaks volumes about who comes through the program at Farmingdale. We've got tough kids that come to play every week."
