Heroin Prevention Task Force Hosts Forum

The forum will take place on Friday at the Molloy College Suffolk Center in Farmingdale.

Nassau County Heroin Prevention Task Force is hosting a forum to educate medical professionals on the dangers of overprescribing of addictive painkillers on Friday at the in East Farmingdale.

The conference is called “Prescription Misuse to Heroin Abuse: Life Saving Interventions" and begins at 9:30 a.m. The group invites medical professionals in order to teach them about responsible prescribing, provide them with tools and strategies to identify and minimize risks of Rx misuse and abuse and help them learn life‐saving interventions.

The Heroin Prevention Task Force is a joint venture led by the DA’s Office and Nassau County Executive Edward Mangano, and membership includes treatment providers, police departments, healthcare agencies, and parent groups.
