Injured Howitt Student Transported to NUMC

The student hit his head and was taken by Medivac.

A student who hit his head was transported by a Nassau County Police Department Helicopter Thursday afternoon.

The student was outside during recess when he tripped and hit his head on the pavement. An ambulance was called and the paramedics determined he needed immediate assistance based on his injuries, school officials said.

NCPD Aviation Helo #6 landed on the ball field adjacent to the school and the injured student was flown to NUMC. The Farmingdale Fire Department stood by with Engine 924 stretching one precautionary line for the landing zone and the Farmingdale Fire Police Unit assisted in securing the landing zone.
