Monday Morning Mulch Fire off Conklin Street

East Farmingdale Fire Department responded to the scene.

There was no damage or injuries in a Monday morning fire near Conklin Street, according to .

Firefighters arrived at the scene around 4:30 a.m. and were confronted with a mulch pile that had caught on fire.

The pile was located between the railroad tracks and Conklin Street east of Rt. 110.

East Farmingdale Fire Department District Administrator Joe Scura said that the department was out for two hours on the incident and that no mutual aid assistance from other departments was required.

The fire was controlled around 6 a.m. and there was no damage to nearby buildings or injuries, he said.
