Field of Honor display at the Farmingdale Library, sponsored by the Massapequa Kiwanis Club.

The Massapequa Kiwanis Club has installed 200 flags on the lawn of the Farmingdale Public Library as part of its second annual Field of Honor tribute to veterans.

The display's purpose is to honor military veterans and those men and women actively serving the country today. It runs between Nov. 5 and Dec. 3 at Massapequa High School, Alfred G. Berner Middle School, John H. West Elementary School and the Farmingdale Library.

The Massapequa High School Key Club and the Builders Club at Alfred G. Berner Middle School assisted the Kiwanis Club with the project. Area residents and business owners are invited to sponsor one or more of these keepsake flags. All proceeds will go towards veterans foundations.
