School Supply Donations Needed

The supplies will go to the John Theissen Children's Foundation.

Sen. Kemp Hannon is partnering with John Theissen Children's Foundation to help collect school supplies for underprivileged children in the sixth district.

"By donating supplies, you are giving hope to a family and providing a brighter future to a child in need," Hannon said.

Supplies accepted must be unused and may include backpacks, spiral and marble notebooks, loose leaf, binders, crayons, markers, colored pencils, pencils, pencil cases, ballpoint pens, rulers, glue-sticks and scissors.

Community members can drop-off any supplies to Hannon's Community Office located at 595 Stewart Ave, Suite 540 in Garden City. The last day to donate supplies is Wednesday, Aug. 24.

The John Theissen Children's Foundation is a non-profit assisting sick and underprivileged children, and their families.
