The Farmingdale Main Street staple is closing on Sunday.

"The Rotary Club found out on Tuesday at the meeting and we were all stunned by this sad news," said Tina Diamond, a Rotary Club leader and school board member. "The Farmingdale Breakfast Rotary met here for a year and a half it was a great spot for our club meeting, the heart of the community that we love to serve through the charitable projects we do."

Owners Jim Brennan and Joe Tinisi said the economy and low Main Street traffic were the main reasons for the closure. The had a staff of eight to ten employees, depending on the season.

"I loved the community the neighborhood feel and the patrons were great," Tinisi said. "I will also miss our hardworking employees."

"Fellow Rotarian and Bollinger's owner Joe is such a community-oriented person," Diamond said. "He did so much volunteering of his culinary/ catering skills for Farmingdale schools and for the community-at-large. He and his early morning team will be missed by all the Rotarians and, unfortunately, Bollinger's will be another small-business befelled by the harsh economic times."
