Spend Read Across America Day at Farmingdale Library

The day celebrates the birthday of Dr. Seuss.

Celebrate the birthday of Dr. Seuss on March 2 by joining book lovers and the for Read Across America day. 

The library has created a center dedicated to Dr. Seuss in the playroom of the Children's Department. There is a Dr. Seuss-themed movie theater, complete with DVDs, toys, games and books and residents are encouraged to stop by throughout the day.

This year, the National Education Association, a group of more than 3.2 million educators who work to improve public schools, is calling on book lovers around the nation to read The Lorax, the popular Dr. Seuss children's book published in 1971 about the lovable creature who fights to save the environment.
