State Police: DWI with Revoked License Charge

The incident occurred on the Southern State near Bethpage State Parkway.

An Amityville man was arrested on March 19 and charged with driving while intoxicated and with a revoked license in the area.

At around 11:40 p.m., New York State Trooper Ferraro said he was partrolling the eastbound Southern State Parkway near Bethpage Parkway, when a Black Chevrolet Malibu sped past his patrol car.

Ferraro stopped the car and interviewed the driver, Willie Davis, 49, and Ferraro reported that he detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage. Davis failed sobriety tests and was subsequently arrested for DWI, according to New York State Police Troop L.

The New York State Police also conducted a license check which revealed that Davis was driving with a revoked license.

The defendant was charged with felony DWI for having at least one DWI conviction in the last 10 years, aggravated unlicensed operation first degree and traffic violations.
