TOBAY Hosts Holiday Ice Show

The free show is Saturday at 7 p.m.

The Town of Oyster Bay is kicking off the holiday season by hosting the second annual Holiday on Ice Show at the Town of Oyster Bay Ice Skating Center.

The show is Dec. 3 from 7 to 9:30 p.m. and will feature the center’s skating students performing choreographed routines to music. Admission is free but residents are encouraged to donate two canned goods, which will be collected at the event by Island Harvest.

“In addition to showcasing the talent of students who participate in the town’s figure skating program, the event will also feature a match featuring the Elves vs. the Reindeers, members of the Town’s ‘Tot Hockey’ team,” Supervisor John Venditto said.

The town is taking part in the American Red Cross ‘Holiday Mail for Heroes’ Program. Holiday greeting cards will be available in the lobby for residents to fill out prior to and during the show.

“I ask each person who comes to this event to take time out to write out a card to be sent to our service men and women who protect our freedom. It will certainly help make their holiday a little bit brighter," Venditto said.

The event will also feature a visit from Santa. Children will be able to visit with Santa following the show and take photos.

The Town of Oyster Bay Ice Skating Center is located at 1001 Stewart Ave. in Bethpage and offers a snack shop, a pro shop and a fireplace. The 6 to 8 p.m. public skating session at the center will not be available due to the show, but both town outdoor rinks (Marjorie R. Post Community Park in Massapequa and Syosset-Woodbury Park) will be open.
