Action Long Island and its sister program Our Kids in Action sponsor a Youth Conference every year to help "the children of today become better leaders of tomorrow," focusing on self respect, respect for others, ambition and now anti-bullying.

This year's conference welcomed approximately 2,500 students from 30 different schools. The keynote speaker for the event was Jamie Isaacs and the performer was Lexxi Saal, both teenagers who survived bullying and are hoping to break the vicious cycle.

Isaacs is an anti-bullying activist, author and speaker who helps those who have been bullied. She has created the Jamie Isaacs Foundation for Anti-Bullying Inc., and published her first book, In Jamie's Words, about her journey to find peace.

Saal is a singer and songwriter who performed her new song "Just Breathe" at the Youth Conference. Both her and her sister spread awareness of the emotional damages that bullying can cause. She has also founded LexxiLoves.org and is active with Beatitbully.com

What an inspiring event. I'm so proud that Farmingdale State College hosts this event each year.
