Where Do You Live in Farmingdale?
Farmingdale spans two counties, two towns and a village. Where do you live?
Farmingdale has one of the most unique geographies on Long Island. Here's why:
The 11735 zip code, Farmingdale, is in both counties (Nassau and Suffolk) and emcompasses two hamlets (East Farmingdale and South Farmingdale), a village (Farmingdale Village) and two towns (Town of Oyster Bay and Town of Babylon).
Students in Farmingdale go to Farmingdale Schools, Plainedge Schools or Half Hollow Hills Schools and each of the Farmingdale district's four elementary schools actually fall in different hamlets (Saltzman East Memorial in East Farmingdale, Northside in Farmingdale Village, and Woodward Parkway in South Farmingdale and Albany Avenue in North Massapequa).
There's also three fire departments (East Farmingdale, South Farmingdale and Village of Farmingdale), an airport and Farmingdale State College.
Tell us where you live in the poll below. Do you live on any of the municipal borders? Please write so in the comments or email amandaf@patch.com.
