Woman Hit, Robbed Near Heisser Lane

Police seek tips regarding the incident.

are investigating a robbery that occurred on Monday at 3 a.m. near Heisser Lane in Farmingdale.

According to Eighth Squad detectives, a 32-year-old woman pulled her car over on the corner of Garfield Avenue and Heisser Lane to check a tire for a flat. She reported to police that when she walked to the rear of her vehicle to inspect the tire, a black two-door Honda Civic approached and a male voice yelled out, “Hey mommy you need some help?” and after replying “No,” the Honda pulled in front of her car.

Police said a male exited the vehicle, approached the victim and pressed a hard object against her head and demanded that she give him her pocketbook. She then handed her bag over to the subject and police said he proceeded to punch the victim several times on both sides of her face causing contusions.

The victim then ran to a neighboring house and called 911. After police arrived she was transported to a local hospital for treatment of her injuries.
