Kiwanis Honors 'Baby Safe Haven' Founder at Farmingdale Library
Local events, highlights to help plan your day: Thursday Aug. 1, 2013.
It's Aug. 1; a new month and new options today through the weekend:
1. The Kiwanis Club of Farmingdale will honor Tim Jaccard and his "Baby Safe Haven Foundation." Thursday at 7 p.m. Thursday. The Kiwanis Club invites the public for free refreshments at the Farmingdale Library. Learn about Baby Safe Haven and the work Jaccard has done for abandoned and deceased children.
2. Nearby: Our Lady of Mercy's Family Festival continues tonight and through the weekend in Hicksville.
3. Nearby: The St. Rocco’s Feast continues on 3rd Street in Glen Cove from 6-11 p.m Thursday and through the weekend. What you’ll find: Free admission, live entertainment, homemade Italian food, rides, games and crafts.
