Solemn 9/11 Service at Farmingdale Library Wednesday

Here's a look at the key events in Farmingdale Wednesday, the 12th anniversary of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks:

1. The Farmingdale Summit conducts its annual memorial service to honor and remember those who were affected by the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001. The brief ceremony is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. at the Farmingdale Public Library. See details here.

2. All day Wednesday, the Nassau County Firefighters Museum is offering free admission. A new 9/11 exhibit is opening.

3. Nearby, The Plainview Library is hosting two free showings of "The Great Gatsby," Baz Luhrmann's adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald's celebrated novel. The film, starring Leonardo DiCaprio, shows at 3 and 7:30 p.m.
