EGC Group to Dedicate 24 Hours to Nonprofit Advertising Campaigns

On September 20th and 21st, EGC Group will participate for the fifth consecutive year in CreateAthon, donating their skills to a ‘full-course’ treatment – the planning, copywriting and design of attention-catching advertising for select nonprofits – all in a 24-hour period.

CreateAthon, founded by South Carolina agency Riggs Partners, became a national pro bono effort in 2001 and has expanded to include over 60 agencies nationwide. It is an innovative opportunity for participating agencies to utilize their expertise, resources and media contacts for the benefit of selected nonprofits. The effort has benefited more than 1,100 nonprofit organizations with projects valued at over $11 million. Projects are completed – from start to finish –with staff working through the night.

Three organizations will benefit from receiving the services of a full-service advertising agency, which is often unattainable due to restrictive budgets. The staff of EGC Group will let their creative skills thrive in an atmosphere that promises to be fast-paced, exciting, and fun – and all in the name of a number of good causes.

“Our participation in CreateAThon is always a tremendous success, generating hundreds of thousands of dollars of media exposure and award winning creative work for nonprofit organizations, at no cost to them,” said Ernie Canadeo, President of EGC Group. “Over the past few years, we have seen a tremendous benefit to charities from the products we have provided during this 24-hour period. We are excited to once again participate as CreateAThon’s exclusive New York area advertising agency.”

Nonprofits interested in benefitting from the event are encouraged to submit an official application on EGC’s website. Five applicants will be chosen and narrowed down to the final three selections through an online poll on EGC’s Facebook page and website. The three nonprofits that will take part in the day will be announced late August.

“The entire EGC staff will be dedicated to CreateAthon projects– including everything from conceptual development to copywriting and design,” said Nicole Larrauri, EGC’s Managing Partner. “Each department will put their specialties into action for a number of great causes. This process is truly rewarding and each year our staff walks away with a smile while nonprofit participants leave with award-winning products.”

Account services staff will manage the projects and formulate marketing plans. EGC Group’s creative and digital teams will craft campaigns that are unique, insightful and effective. The production department will seek local vendors that are eager to contribute their time, materials and services while EGC’s media staff will utilize their extensive contacts to obtain media placements.
