The Farmingdale Devils U8 baseball team has won the fall championship in the Bethpage Fall Travel League. The Devils went undefeated in the regular season, and played the Seaford Viking in the first round of the playoffs. Sam Cordova pitched three inning and Nick Disanti earned the save as the Devils won 7-6. The following week they played the East Meadow Mustangs. Pitchers Timmy Purek and Nicholas Napolitano each threw three solid innings as the Devils escaped with a 2-1 victory. In the championship game, they faced their top rival, the Plainedge Red Devils. The teams had battled three times over the summer with each team winning games. The Devil batters came prepared this week, as their top three players in the batting order, Nicholas Napolitano, Nick Disanti ( Nick Squared) and Andrew Alameda went a combined 11 for 12 to lead the attack. "Big Andrew" put a show with 6 RBI's and a long blast off the right field wall. Torin Kasselbaum, Shane Schwartz and Robert Traitta also had big hits to help the team win 15-6 and secure the title.
