Brighton’s Power of Pink Bracelet to Benefit The Maurer Foundation
Starting this Friday, September 27th, The Maurer Foundation is pleased to partner with Brighton Collectibles at the Walt Whitman Shops in Huntington Station for a special month-long fundraiser in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Throughout October, The Maurer Foundation will receive a portion of sales of Brighton's new 2013 Power of Pink bracelet.
The Power of Pink bracelet features Swarovski crystals on a pink heart-shaped charm dangling from a silver link bracelet. For every $60 bracelet sold, $10 will directly contribute to local breast cancer non-profits. The Maurer Foundation will receive funds to support its breast health education programs, which share life-saving information on early detection and breast cancer prevention with high schools, colleges, community groups, and businesses throughout Long Island.
In addition to receiving a portion of the proceeds from the Power of Pink bracelets, educators from The Maurer Foundation will be on-hand at the Brighton Collectibles every Saturday during the fundraiser to offer shoppers instructional cards on breast self-exams, silicone model demonstrations, and other materials on ways to reduce the risk of breast cancer and cultivate healthy early detection and lifestyle habits.

Along with the Power of Pink bracelet's coordinating earrings and necklace, the collection arrives just in time for early holiday shoppers to combine an elegant gift with supporting a worthy cause. Brighton Collectibles is located in the Walt Whitman Shops at 160 Walt Whitman Road in Huntington Station, directly in front of Bloomingdale's. They are open daily from 10 am to 9:30 pm. Breast cancer continues to be responsible for the deaths of nearly 40,000 women each year, and Long Island breast cancer diagnosis rates are nearly 18 percent higher than the rest of the nation. The Maurer Foundation appreciates the support of Brighton Collectibles in its efforts to reduce these numbers by educating young women about the importance of both prevention and early detection of breast cancer.
