Farmingdale Kiwanis To Host 'America's VetDogs'

Charitable group trains service dogs for disabled and active duty veterans.

The Kiwanis Club of Farmingdale is hosting a special evening with America’s VetDogs, a non-profit dedicated to providing specially trained service dogs to disabled and active duty personnel.

Founded by the Guide Dog Foundation for the Blind, America’s VetDogs mission is to help those who have served our country honorably live with dignity and independence.

VetDogs provides guide dogs and service dogs to disabled veterans and active duty personnel; physical and occupational therapy dogs for VA and military hospitals; and combat operational stress control dogs to be deployed overseas. Though it costs over $50,000 to breed, train and place one dog there is no charge to the veteran.
