FAMILY BEST BETS OF THE WEEK

Here is an assortment of fun events for the week – two events at Long Island Children’s Museum,  an at Borders, at Pump It Up, a show through the Town of Oyster Bay, and a Farmingdale Public Library - pick and choose from this week’s array of events.

Cyberchase Fun at Long Island Children’s Museum

Where/When: , 11 Davis Ave, Garden City. Feb. 23, 24 and 25, 1 p.m. – 3 p.m.
Why Go:
Have some fun as you experiment with different activities that explore the fun behind patterns and problem solving.  For all ages.
Pricing:
  Free with museum admission.

The Cyberchase Challenge at Long Island Children's Museum

Where/When:  , 11 Davis Ave, Garden City. Feb. 27, 1 p.m.
Why Go:
  Join Digit from Cyberchase, as they solve fun and creative math problems to save Motherboard from Hacker's virus. Children will learn algebra and geometry in the exciting interactive game show challenge, followed by an episode of Cyberchase on the big screen.  Meet Digit and take a picture with him. Tickets are limited and can be obtained at the LICM Box Office on a first come, first serve basis.  For ages 3 and up.
Pricing:
  Free with museum admission.

Candy Bouquet at Farmingdale Public Library

Where/When:  , 116 Merritts Rd, Farmingdale. Feb. 23, 7 p.m. – 8 p.m.
Why Go:
  Grades 3-5 will make a tasty looking bouquet out of candy.
Pricing:
  Free

Happy Birthday Elmo! at Borders

Where/When: , 231 Airport Plaza Blvd, Farmingdale. Feb. 26, 2 p.m.
Why Go:
  Celebrate Elmo's 3rd birthday with music, stories, crafts and more.  This is not a costume character event.
Pricing:
  Free.

Super Silly Circus at Locust Valley Library

Where/When: , 170 Buckram Rd, Locust Valley. Feb. 26, 2 p.m.
Why Go:
  Kids will have fun at this Children's Magical Music & More program, through the Town of Oyster Bay Department of Community & Youth Services.  TV personality and children's entertainer Mark Stolzenberg will perform a potpourri of hilarious traditional and experimental circus clown routines and skills.  Audiences will be mesmerized by this delightful and unique performance that includes music, mime, acrobatics, and audience participation.  For children 4 years of age and older.
Pricing:
  Free.

Open Pop-In Playtime at Pump It Up in Plainview

Where/When: 135 Dupont St, Plainview, Feb. 25, 2 p.m. – 4 p.m.
Why Go:
  Let the kids have fun jumping in bouncers and playing on inflatable slides.
Pricing:
$14.95 at the door for the first child, $12.95 for each additional child. Pay in advance or book online and save $2 per child.
