Local Allstate Agency Raises Money for Military Families

Dolan Agency of Farmingdale donates to the United Way's "LIVE UNITED" program.

The Allstate Insurance Company, The Dolan Agency in Farmingdale was in the charitable spirit this season raising and donating $2,000 in honor of Veteran's Day and Long Island Military families.

The agency raised money through local fund-raising and a matching guarantee. Proceeds were donated to the United Way of Long Island's Operation LIVE UNITED which allows Long Islanders to show their support for the military by purchasing an Operation LIVE UNITED t-shirt.

The donations benefit the United Way's Military Family Assistance Project which partners with local nonprofit organizations. Proceeds help to provide emergency financial aid, case management and job training to military personnel who have served in Iraq or Afghanistan.

The Dolan Agency was honored among other Allstate Agencies on Nov. 15 during an annual meeting.

In total, the agencies raised $10,000 for the project.

Guest of honor, U.S. Army Combat Medic Weston Lather was unable to attend due to his duties regarding Hurricane Sandy.
