Patch Picks: Local Summer Camps

As spring approaches, it's time to start thinking about summer camp registration. Farmingdale is home to a variety of athletic, recreational and educational summer camps. Below are five great camps for all ages and for all prices.

  • Summer Camp: Children participate in weekly themed events, field trips, sports, arts and crafts and more. For information call, 631.420.2125
  • Farmingdale Youth Council: A town favorite, also known as Rec, allows kids to hang out with their school friends. Field trips, a talent show and the penny carnival are just a few of the great features of this program. Each elementary school holds the program for Farmingdale students grades one - six.   • Kenwal: This camp is located just off Route 110 in Melville and is perfect for kids who love the arts, theater and sports. Kenwal offers many different programs and even has swimming lessons. For more information, call 631-694-3399.
  • : This family run camp is ideal for a family on a budget and has various locations on Long Island (the closest one to Farmingdale is Hicksville). For more information, call 516.935.CAMP
  • Summer Camp: This camp is held right off Main Street and is perfect for younger children ages three to seven. Campers wear color coded shirts according to their age. For more information, call 516.756.9573.
