Fridays at The Nutty Irishman:

Start your weekend off right at . With one of the best Happy Hours around from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m., and live music playing late through the night, The Nutty Irishman is bound to be a good time. Happy Hour features $2 domestic bottles, $3 import bottles, $1 off taps and appetizers and half price bar drinks. Complementary hors d'oeuvres, pasta dishes and liquor tastings will be available from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Cultural Arts Playhouse presents "Rent":

Located in neighboring Plainview, the Cultural Arts Playhouse will be performing a month long run of "Rent," an award winning musical. Join the cast for a night of theatrical fun. Tickets are $20.

Farmingdale Basketball Hosts Bard:

Head over to for an afternoon of exciting sports. Both the Women's and Men's basketball teams will face off against Bard College in an exciting mid-day battle. Women go on at 1 p.m. and the men hit the court at 3 p.m.

A Magical Saturday Night at Borders:

Bring your family to check out of Farmingdale Saturday night as famed Magician Vincent Lauria will perform in the Borders Cafe. It is the opening night of the store's newest program "Magical Saturday Nights" hosted by The Magic Shop in Hicksville. Lauria has been practicing his magic for nearly a decade and has many surprises in store for the first night.

The Rolling Tones at Kodiak's Restaurant and Bar:

Cycle Through Farmingdale, Enter a Chili Contest:

will be hosting its 4th annual Coldest Day of the Year Ride and Chili Cook-off in Farmingdale. The ride is about 10 miles total, and will explore the streets of Farmingdale and South Farmingdale. Riders must be 21 or older unless they are accompanied by a parent. The chili contest will occur after the ride is complete and all are welcome to submit their product.
