'Argo' Coming to Farmingdale Library

Oscar-nominated film to play on March 5.

Farmingdale Library Cinema will present two free screenings of the Oscar-nominated 'Argo' on March 5.

Since it's first come, first serve, the thriller starring Ben Affleck and Alan Arkin will surely draw a big crowd. Doors open at 1:15 p.m for the 1:30 p.m. showing and at 6:30 p.m. for the 7 p.m. show.

The film is raided "R" and runs 120 minutes.

On Nov. 4, 1979, Iranian militants stormed the American embassy in Tehran and captured dozens of American hostages, sparking a 444-day ordeal. There's a little-known footnote to the crisis: six Americans escaped and a midlevel agent named Antonio Mendez devised an ingenious yet incredibly risky plan to rescue them.

In the event of a large turnout, residents with proof of residency in UFSD #22 will be admitted first.
