This weekend, we're suggesting a football game, live music at The Nutty Irishman, and 9/11 events including a concert, an observance and a tribute.

Choir Concert at St. Rose of Lima – I am a Voice! Long Island Remembers 9/11

Why Go:
  See Long Island Voices under the direction of Michael Bussewitz-Quarm. They proudly present "An Hour of Service: Healing the Wounded Warrior." This concert event will raise funds for 9/11Veterans.

9/11 Observance at Farmingdale United Methodist Church

Where:  , Main St. & Grant Ave., Farmingdale
When: 
Sept. 11, 1 p.m. – 4 p.m.
Why Go:
  Open to the community for quiet reflection and prayer. Everyone is welcome.

First Annual Long Island Remembers Tribute at Polo Grounds of Bethpage State Park

Where:  , 99 Quaker Meeting House Rd., Farmingdale
When:
  Sept. 11, 11 a.m. – 7 p.m. (Ceremony is 1:30 p.m. – 2:30 p.m.)
Why Go:
  This remembrance of the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks will include an afternoon ceremony and evening gala that will help support Nassau County Fire Fighters Operation Wounded Warrior (NCFF-OWW). There will be appearances by Edward P. Mangano (Nassau County Executive), Legislator Joseph Belesi (chair of Nassau Veterans & Senior Affairs), Kirstie Alley (actress) and Steve Guttenberg (actor).  In addition to a special ceremonial tribute to 9/11, Long Island Remembers will offer Polo At The Park beginning at 12:30 p.m., catering by Carlyle on the Green, and live music.
