New Farmingdale Ski-Themed Club Opens

Aaron Carter and Demi Lovato are just some of the famous names that have performed at , but the popular nightspot on Rt. 110 is no longer just a concert venue. 

Since 2002, The Crazy Donkey has hosted popular bands and entertaining events. Cirque du Soleil performed at The Donkey with high wire trapeze acts on their 2,000 square foot outdoor deck. Don’t be mislead though, these events will continue in tandem with Ski House.

The Ski House resembles a ski lodge, with staff dressed in white. Every Friday customers can enjoy $1 beers and shots from 10 p.m. until midnight, Blue Ice specials, dancers and guest DJs. Late night snacks can be ordered at the kitchen until 1 a.m. 

The club opened on Jan. 21.

“About 600 people showed up for our grand opening," said Brian Speed, owner of Nightlife Empire Inc. and creator of Ski House. "We feel the 10 degree weather hurt us, but numbers should be up this Friday with 35 degree weather expected.”

Throwing parties all across the country, in San Francisco, Vegas, Boston, DC, Baltimore and Phoenix, Speed is an experienced nightclub promoter.

This Friday at their Mardi Gras party, the girl with the most Marti Gras beads wins a vacation to Italy. Ski House is also holding auditions for snow bunny dancers that will wear a white outfit, along with furry boots. Opening this spring will be The Donkey’s beach-themed summer club,  featuring a foam machine from Cancun, Mexico.

Ski House is easily accessible to Farmingdale residents, located directly across from Republic Airport, and depending on age, the entrance fee ranges from $10-$15.
