Police: Gunpoint Robbery Spree in 3 Nearby Communities

Gunpoint robberies in Plainview, Hicksville and Bethpage; three robbers hunted who struck four times in two hours.

Gun-toting robbers struck four times in under two hours in the communities surrounding Farmingdale late Friday night into Saturday morning, Nassau County police said.

The robbers struck twice in Hicksville, once in Plainview and once in Bethpage, between 11:25 p.m. and 1:20 a.m. 

Nobody was hurt in any of the robberies but a gun was displayed in each of the incidents, according to police. Cops believe all the robberies are connected.

Here's a description of the incidents according to detectives:

  • At 11:25 p.m. Friday a 24-year old man was robbed on Hicksville Road, in Bethpage. Two men stole the victim's cell phone, an undetermined amount of cash, and a back pack.
  • At 12:50 a.m. Saturday, a 41-year old man was robbed at the intersection of Forest Drive and Orchard Drive in Plainview. Three men stole a phone and cash.
  • At 1:15 a.m. Saturday, two women, ages 22 and 25 were robbed at the intersection of James Street and Newbridge Road in Hicksville. The contents of their backpacks and their cell phones were taken by two  men.
  • At 1:20 a.m. Saturday, two men ages 30 and 27 were robbed on Strong Street in Hicksville. Two robbers took their cell phones and cash.
The gunmen have been described as male blacks or Hispanics who were seen entering a dark-colored, four-door sedan.
