Farmingdale High School Senior Awards

Farmingdale High School Senior Awards

This week has been my final week as a Farmingdale High School student. Farmingdale always treats their seniors well and have many special events for them.  Tuesday night, the high school held the Senior Award and Scholarship ceremony, the first of several events that will be upcoming for seniors in the next two weeks.

I was very impressed with the ceremony.  It was held at the auditorium at the high school and was from 6 p.m. to 8p.m.  It was a great experience, being around many of my fellow classmates and watching them win awards and scholarship money.  The PTA and many other different clubs from the Farmingdale and Massapequa area raised a lot of money to give away to us students and I would like to thank them for all their hard work that they put in.

I do not remember the exact amount that all of these clubs donated, but they said this year was one of the highest amount of scholarship money given away in years.  It was also cool to hear about the people's lives and legacies for whom these scholarships were named and knowing that most of them were Dalers just like me.

The award I won was for journalism and I got a $100 check and I would like to thank the school for giving it to me.  I will be certainly using that money for a book, for when I go away to college.

Overall, it was a great night at Farmingdale High School and the school, along with the class advisers for my senior class, did an excellent job.  I am now looking forward to senior banquet next week and graduation the week after, which I know will be great, just like past years.
