After a record-breaking season with the New York Giants, wide receiver Victor Cruz sits down with Peter Schrager, a sports writer for FOXSports.com, and helps tell his story about his journey into the NFL.
I first heard about this book when I saw Cruz tweet about it on Twitter. When I first saw it, I immediately got excited. Victor Cruz became one of my favorite Giants this past season and I knew I had to get this book. I picked up the book the day it came out and that night I couldn't stop reading it.
When you watch an athlete on your television, you only know them as an athlete. It's hard to picture them doing other stuff because the only time you see them, they're playing a sport. Before reading this book I just knew Victor Cruz as an undrafted wide reciever for the New York Giants who helped the Giants win a Super Bowl. After reading this book, I have a whole new outlook on him.

Before Victor Cruz even stepped on the football field in a Giants uniform, he had to get through many obstacles to get there. Cruz grew up in Paterson, N.J., just a few miles away from the Meadowlands. Growing up in not the greatest part of the town, Cruz face many different problems as a kid and teenager. As he got older Cruz also faced problems with his family and with his academics. Cruz overcame all these problems and made a name for himself in the NFL and is now a Super Bowl champion.
I would recommend this book for not just a Giants fan, but for any NFL fans. It helps show some of the obstacles that an undrafted player goes through to get a chance to play for an NFL team. It is also a very heartwarming story and shows that no matter how many obstacles you face in life, you can overcome them and be successful. It was very well written and it is an easy read for anybody. It was definitely worth buying this book and I cannot wait to see Victor play in this upcoming season.
