Chamber to Honor Beth Mignone

Chamber sites long-time member as their "Outstanding small Businessperson of the Year."

The Farmingdale Chamber of Commerce is pleased has selected Beth Mignone as its Nassau Council of Chambers of Commerce 2012 Outstanding Small Businessperson of the Year.

Each year, the Nassau Council of Chambers of Commerce encourages it members to select an Honoree to receive this prestigious award. The Honoree must meet the following criteria:

  • Active Member of the Chamber of Commerce
  • Owns or manages a business located in the community
  • Has made a significant contribution to the local economy, to the advancement of the Chamber and has made a meaningful and important contribution to the general welfare of the local community.

The Farmingdale Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors unanimously agreed that Beth fully meets and exceeds these criteria and is said it is proud to recognize her as our 2012 Honoree.

Mignone is the president of Mignone Construction Corp, a family owned and operated masonry business established in Farmingdale in 1988. She was born and raised in Farmingdale where she and her husband, Tony, continue to live with their four teenaged daughters.

Mignone has been a member of the Farmingdale Chamber since 2009 and currently serves as the Chamber's Secretary. She co-chairs the Annual Comedy Night committee helping to raise funds for the Farmingdale High School Scholarship Fund.

Mignone has also acted as president of the PTA and spearheaded fundraisers to build a playground. She has also served as Girl Scout Cookie Mom and helps connect Boy Scouts with local projects.

Currently, Mignone Construction is sponsoring a Boy Scout's Eagle Project to erect bicycle racks in the Farmingdale community by providing the labor and materials needed to complete the project. They also donated a walkway/patio to the Saltzman East Memorial Elementary.

“I am thankful to the Chamber for voting me as Small Businessperson of the Year," she said. "The Chamber is an awesome group of people who work hard to help make our community a better place.”

Beth will also be recognized at the NCCC’s 2012 Outstanding Small Businessperson of the Year Awards and Legislative Breakfast.  The Breakfast is scheduled on Friday, October 12, 2012 at the Crest Hollow Country Club in Woodbury from 8:00 am to 10:00 am.
