Farmingdale Rotary, Modells, Team Up on Discounts

Customers getting break on sporting goods as baseball season gets underway.

The Farmingdale Breakfast Rotary and Modells Sporting Goods have teamed up to provide discounts as baseball season gets underway.

Customers will receive a 15 percent store coupon and earn 5 percent rewards back to the Rotary club. This special discount is only available during the weeks of March 29th-April 25,2013.

The Rotary Club promotion allows for athletic team shirts, sportswear and sneakers. It's timed to the beginning of youth baseball season, but the entire family can benefit from the discounts.

The coupons are being distributed by Farmingdale Breakfast Rotary members and will be on the counter at Moby Drugs, Main Street, Farmingdale. Residents can also visit Farmingdale Breakfast Rotary on Facebook and download the coupons there. Coupons are accepted at all Modells locations.

The popular discount and rewards-back program was implemented by The Breakfast Rotary Club last year at holiday time. Due to the overwhelming community response the club was able to use cash-back funds toward  community projects such as Sandy-relief, six annual scholarships to Farmingdale High School students, supporting the Farmingdale Community Summit Family Fund, sponsoring Youth Farmingdale Baseball, donating food, toys & turkey dinners at holiday times and supporting Gift of Life and Rotocare programs which supply medical care to those in need.

This spring, the Modell's discount program will also be a "kick-off project" to the 2nd Annual Rotary Appreciation Day at Citifield to be held on May 11, 2013. The Breakfast Rotary invites the community to join us at Citifield for the Mets vs Pirates baseball game at 1 p.m.

Tickets are on sale now for $40 and can be purchased by logging on to www.mets.com/rotary. The Farmingdale Breakfast Rotary promotes this Mets game as a "fun-filled family" activity as well as a show of appreciation for the local and international Rotary efforts of peace and understanding.

Hate to sound like an old woman, but when it was Von Leeson's it was always a joy to be there. AllRead More the staff had been there for years and treated the customers like family. Food was consistently good and they never "ran out" of anything. This place shouldn't be open for business. The poor kid waiting on us last time had to come to me and tell me they had no dessert to have with coffee other than ice cream. We left him a nice tip and I told him to find a job somewhere else; he'd never make any money there. It's a great location. We just need some smart business people to run it!

went there for breakfast the morning of the fair several weeks ago. First, how do you screw upRead More breakfast order? The young man server was doing his best, but still eggs, potatoes, and hash, no potatoes come, begged for coffee refills, ketchup was the very bottom of a heinz bottle. The excuse was sorry we have a new cook,..something tells me that aint the only problem, how does one screw up breakfast. Sorry wont be going back any time soon, unless I see a new mngment or new owner sign.

. This place is just not good. There is nothing appealing about poor service and absolutely horribleRead More food. It should have stayed closed when it went out of business not long ago. I hope the employees can find another means .
