Jen, thanks for the information. My understanding is that St. Kilian's is rebuilding its pantry and looking to restock.

Hi Jen. As director of St. Kilian Outreach and its food pantry I thank you for your comments, although I am surprised to hear that your donation was turned away. We are always in need of food and are grateful to the many generous organizations and individuals in Farmingdale who support us. Many girls scout troops sustained our pantry in January as they held drives for us in celebration of 100 Years of Girl Scouting. Several boy scout troops, in conjunction with the Farmingdale Rotary, generate very large donations for us during their twice yearly solicitations at Stop and Shop. And throughout the year we are pleased to accept food from individual girl and boy scout troops on a regular basis. I am truly sorry that you were misinformed about our need for food; perhaps it was during the two weeks that we were closed in March as we moved into a new building. Please feel free to call me at 516-756-9656 regarding any future food donations. Thanks! Gratefully, Nina Petersen
