Sunday Night Giants Celebration at Farmingdale Modell's

The store opened right after the Super Bowl victory.

in Farmingdale opened Sunday night minutes after the New York Giants defeated the New England Patriots  21-17 in Super Bowl XLVI.

"There was a line outside with fans," said Assistant Manager Rob Allen. "We had about a dozen people working. We closed at 3 a.m. and reopened at 5 a.m. and have been extremely busy all day today."

Theresa Rogers and her two kids were some of those Sunday night fans at the store.

"After the game we read a Facebook post from a friend who was at Modell's around 10:15 who described it as 'a mad house.' We figured we would drive by on the way home to check it out," she said.

According to Rogers, the parking lot looked full when they arrived at 11 p.m. but the store was not '"jam packed."

"They had some tables set up just inside the entrance for all of the t-shirts, with store employees helping customers find the sizes they wanted," she said. "The line for the check-out registers started near the t-shirt tables, snaked it's way towards the rear of the store, then turned back up towards the front. We bought three t-shirts and it took about 45 minutes to get through the line."

Assistant Manager Allen said that "many" boxes of Giants Super Bowl merchandise came in prior to the game starting and that the stock includes locker room shirts, hats and hard goods like shot and pint glasses.

"The hats have definitely been a top seller," Allen said. "We already got in another shipment to replenish today and will probably continue to all week."

Modell's has dedicated the entire front area to Giants merchandise and business has been good, Allen said. This is the second Super Bowl title in five years for the Giants and their fourth in team history.

"The win definitely helps, it always does," he said. "This place would be like a ghost town today if the game ended differently."
