Mangano said he is hopeful the proceeds will provide some peace of mind to those in need. Nassau residents lost not only home and property but also income as destruction from the storm closed roads and businesses for days afterward.

The Committee includes Chaplains from the Nassau County Police Department including Rev. Gerard Gordon; Rev. Joseph D’Angelo; Rabbi Barry Dov Schwartz; Rabbi Abraham Lefkowitz; and Bishop Robert Harris. Contributions can be made to the NHRC, c/o Nassau County Police Department, Room 216, 1490 Franklin Avenue, Mineola, NY 11501.
