Meaty, Sweet and Thrifty Deals in Farmingdale

This week's deals are on meat, cake, chocolate, Italian meals and at thrift stores.

This week, we have scoured many local establishments to bring you some of the best deals of the week to help you save some money.  Make sure to check back each week on Wednesday for more deals.

This week we are featuring deals from Main Street Meat, Dominos and Singas Pizza, The Chocolate Duck, Cascarinos and Pretty New Thrift Store.

The “Meat” of the Deal:

at 210 Main Street runs weekly specials that rival those of some of the bigger stores.  This week, they are featuring USDA Prime Sirloin Steaks for $2.29/lb. and Boneless Chicken Breasts for $1.99/lb.  Make sure to check their website at www.mainstreetmeats.com for weekly specials.

It’s Pizza Tonight:

Farmingdale has welcomed a new pizza place,, at 313 Main Street and as such they are discounting pies. On Mondays, single-topping personal pies can be had for only $4.99, and on Tuesdays, pasta dishes are only $4.99 each.  Right down the road, at 216 Main Street, is offering large two topping pizzas for $5.99 each (carry-out only.)  Take your pick.

Mmm… Chocolate:

With Valentines Day around the corner, many people may be wanting to make something special for their someone special.  , at 310 Main Street, can help you do this.  The Chocolate Duck is a specialty store dedicated to cake decorating and chocolate making.  Filled to the brim with molds, icings, tools, and chocolate, The Chocolate Duck can help you create a masterpiece.  This store also has very reasonable prices.  Pounds of melting chocolate go for $2.99 each, and molds range from $2 to $4.  This store can help you make the creation you have always wanted to make, have some fun and save money doing so.  The store also offers “Ladies Nights Out” for $40 per person, and couples nights for $60 per couple to help perfect your candy making skills.

Escape to Italy:

Cascarinos, at 302 Main Street, is offering lunch (Monday through Saturday) from $5.95 per person, and pasta all day on Tuesdays from $5.95.  Don’t like pizza or pasta?  A quick prowl through their menu online reveals a sizable number of reasonably priced options.

Feeling Thrifty?

Looking to save some money on clothing and house wares?  Why not stop by one (or both) of the thrift stores in Farmingdale.  is a store located at 238 Main Street and there is another Thrift Store located at 301 Main Street.  I stopped in at Pretty New, and was able to find two pairs of dress slacks for $5. The store also has assorted clothing for women and children, and assorted housewares all at prices that sometimes shock.  Pretty New benefits Central Nassau Guidance and Counseling Services (a mental health service.)
