The hosted their second annual comedy night Thursday to benefit the chamber's Farmingdale High School Scholarship Fund. Over 100 business owners gathered at the for local eats, Chinese auction raffles, and laughs from three of Long Island's top comics.
"Fundraising was difficult the past few years," said chamber member Beth Mignone. "So we tried a comedy night and it did well so we figured we'd try it a second time."
After a buffet dinner provided and served by neighborhood restaurants like ,, and , chamber members sat back and enjoyed a show by Long Island stad-up comedians Joe Currie, Rich Walker, and Rich Lazarus.
Prizes ranged from kitchen supplies (some became the brunt of jokes by the comics) to flat screen televisions and free hall rentals by the Knights of Columbus.
The chamber plans on making comedy night a tradition after Thursday's success.
