VIDEO: 'No Brainer' to Not Allow Restaurants on Conklin

A high-end restaurant group will not be able to build there.

Mayor Starkie and the Village of Farmingdale board opted to eliminate "restaurant" as a permitted use for the empty Conklin Street properties at Monday's meeting.

The area is currently zoned as an office-residence district. Starkie said he has been notified by the real estate agent of the former Chase bank that it is under contract. Starkie was not told what would be moving into the lot, only that it is not a restaurant.
