Week Ahead: Village Fair Begins Thursday

Annual four-day event features entertainment, crafts and food.

Today is Oct. 1 and that means fall festivals and events will be in full swing beginning this week:

1. The Farmingdale Fire Department will kick off the 24th annual Columbus Day Fair on Thursday, Oct. 4. This year, local celebrities will be taking the stage at the festival. The fair runs through the weekend.

2. The Farmingdale Breakfast Rotary meets Tuesday morning at the Farmingdale Public Library. The community is invited.

3. The Oyster Bay Town Board meets Tuesday at 10 a.m. We'll have a report.

4. The Farmingdale Football team remains undefeated after a decisive win over Plainview Friday night. This weekend, Farmingdale takes on Hempstead Saturday.

It would be helpful if parents knew ahead of time the cost of the pay one price bracelets for the rides at the Famingdale Columbus Fair schedule for next weekend. Please post the price in the comments below - thanks.

Personally I was shocked to see the price increase of the bracelets to $25 up from $20 the year before.
