My name is Doug and I've been a Farmingdale resident for just about 10 years.  I was born and raised in Massapequa Park and moved here in 2001.  

I have always been interested in local news and events, which is why I'm looking forward to blogging on Patch. I'm a big sports fan and I will be giving my insight and opinions on the local sports scene, mainly here in the Farmingdale area.  

I'll be covering things like the local rivalries, stand-out teams, coaches and players, and Farmingdale's rich sports history.
