Photos: Farmingdale Library Reopens after Renovations

Phase 1 of the renovation project has been completed.

A revamped opened its doors Tuesday after eight months of renovations.

Highlights of the the first phase of the project include a new side entrance, an expanded children's section, a new AV space and family bathrooms. The next phase of the project is renovating the basement meeting rooms.

The project was funded through reserve funds gained through investments and cost savings measures, according to Library Director Debbie Podolski. The library also obtained grants from the New York State Library Construction Aid program, Legislator Joseph Belesi, Senator Charles Fuschillo, Senator Kemp Hannon, Assemblyman Joseph Saladino and the Farmingdale Community Summit Council.
