Farmingdale's D'Addario a Sponsor of Big Juilliard Fashion Show

Students will perform in benefit for free private lessons for children of low-income families.

Farmingdale's D'Addario Foundation is among the sponsors of an upcoming showcase of music and fashion in New York.

Freshman musicians of The Juilliard School will present a musical showcase of fashion and performing arts to raise funds to support Opportunity Music Project, a non-profit providing free private music lessons to children from low-income families who have a passion for music in New York City.

Abigail Elder, a freshman violist at The Juilliard School, has initiated and organized the music fashion show, in which 24 four musicians, including classical string players, composers, a trombonist, a flutist, an oboist, vocalists, jazz students, and pianists, all from the freshman class of The Juilliard School, will host a music fashion show performance to benefit the Opportunity Music Project.

The event takes place at the Dicapo Opera Theater, 184 E 76th St., Manhattan, on May 14 at 7:30 p.m.

The benefit will be a music fashion show titled "An Evening of Tuneful Trends.” Every fashion model is a music performer, and every performance will showcase a fashion designer, including Anna Sui.

There is a suggested $15 donation to attend the event. Companies sponsoring the event include the Dicapo Opera Theatre, Anna Sui Fashion, A Tempo New York and Abe’s Formal Wear.
